So, I have a job. Yup. Minimum wage, cashier, working under fluorescent lights, but it's a job. I have paid orientation and such next week, which will total 20 hours or $178. THAT'S A LOT OF MONEY! :P

WHO DID THIS?

Whoever you are, I love you and you should probably identify yourself so I can love you even more.

FINALLY.

The internet has been acting up for weeks and today it exploded. I decided to get some writing done, since I couldn't distract myself with the many tools available on the internets. I wasn't letting myself write until I finished my outline, which was giving me a headache. Today I FINALLY finished it. It took way longer than I'd expected (um... I started it last Wednesday), but it's finally done and now I can just write.

I hate the planning phase. I'd rather just jump right in. :P

Also! I am now at 17,398 words. I wrote 5002 words last week. I don't think I'll match that this week, but I hope to get to 20k at the very least. My goal is 30k by the time school starts, and I hope to finish the first draft by November. It's not necessary, but I'd rather not stop this novel to write my NaNoNovel. I can only concentrate on one project at a time, everyone. D:

So, my grandparents are going on an Alaskan cruise in May. My mom was going to go and take Bighead with her (you have to have a partner to go with or they won't let you come). Tonight at dinner she asked him if he was still up for it. I was totally expecting him to say enthusiastically, "Um, duh, IT'S ALASKA, OBVIOUSLY I WANT TO GO."

But no.

He said, "Not really. I don't want to go on a cruise."

!!!

I gave him a look that clearly said, "You are one crazy fool," and then told my mother that I would happily take his place.

So. It looks like I'm going to Alaska in May. And, yes, that is a really bad time because that's when all my end-of-the-year presentations are, but I don't care. I am not missing a chance to go to Alaska.

I'm so excited. :D

(Of course, now that I've expressed interest in this trip, Bighead wants to go again. :| He said, "I still have first dibs on the spot, though, right?" I was like, "Make up your mind, because I want to know if I'm going or not.")

EEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Alexandre and his 17-year-old partner won bronze on 3m springboard!!! I watched it, and it was super close, because Reuben screwed up his 4th dive and they got bumped to 8/12 or something horrible like that, and I totally was NOT expecting them to place but then they DID and EEEEEEEE!

I get so fangirly when it comes to diving and swimming.

I saw Up yesterday with Bighead and my mom. It was so amazing. I actually think I love it better than Wall-E, which is definitely saying something because I ADORE Wall-E.

spoilers ahoy )

Overall, an amazing movie. I loved it, and I will definitely be watching it again.

Yep, is ma birfday! (And [livejournal.com profile] chiklita's too!)

Today I went to Wonderland with my friends, which was very, very fun. However, I didn't get to go on the Behemoth because the line was SO LONG (seriously, the shortest line we waited in was 25 minutes, and Behemoth is so popular that it would have taken 2 hours), which made me a bit sad.

Another thing that made me sad was getting tricked by a group of 11-year-old boys. *facepalm*

We went to the water park, and obviously we needed a locker for our stuff. The lockers cost $8 plus a $2 deposit. (Yes, I know, that is a MASSIVE rip-off, but what are you going to do?) So, we were waiting in line to get our key when this little boy approaches us. He asks if we want to get a locker for $8, since he's done with his. He leads us over to the locker and locks and unlocks it to show us that it's legit. We agree, pay him, and put our stuff in our lockers. His friends are giggling, but we can't figure out what could possibly be wrong, so we decided it was just the fact that they're 11-year-old boys and we're ~older girls~.

We go down a bunch of water slides and go in the wave pool. When we're done with the whole water park thing, we go back to our locker. We open it and get our stuff out - and then we realise that when you give the key back, that's when you pay the $8. Oh. GREAT. We already paid these stupid little boys $8. We don't want to have to pay it AGAIN.

So we tried to give the key to someone else. We weren't going to sell it to them like the boys did to us - we just wanted to give the key to them, and then they could pay $8 when they returned it (and save money, since they didn't have to pay for the deposit). Nobody wanted it, though. So we ended up just putting the key back in the locker and running.

I felt so stupid for letting five 11-year-olds trick us. At least it makes a funny story!
