I saw Up yesterday with Bighead and my mom. It was so amazing. I actually think I love it better than Wall-E, which is definitely saying something because I ADORE Wall-E.

Right from the beginning I knew I was going to like it - Ellie was such a cute little kid. I fell in love with her character right away. I thought the montage at the beginning was perfect, and it made me cry. (I always cry at movies, even happy ones. :P) Carl was such a good character, and he really developed over the course of the movie. When he said, "It's just a house," I almost cried.

I loved Russell. He was such a sweet little kid who obviously had problems of his own. I was so close to crying at the end when his dad didn't show up to his awards ceremony and Carl came instead.

Dug was probably my favourite character, because it was so cute how he loved Carl unconditionally. Although I have to say, the whole talking dogs thing did bug me a bit. I didn't mind with Dug, but to have 50+ dogs talking seemed a bit over the top and unbelievable (which I guess is stupid since the whole premise is unbelievable). But Dug was the cutest talking dog ever, and I love him. ♥

Kevin was a good addition too (and crucial to the plot, obviously). I laughed when she turned out to be a girl, and I was thisclose to crying when Charles Muntz took her away and Russell was devastated and so mad at Carl (but seriously - that's such a hard decision. I was like, "OHMYGOD NO NOT THE HOUSE BUT AHH KEVIN"). Her babies were super cute, too.

The second time I cried was when Carl finds the note Ellie wrote in her Adventure Book. AGH. Just heartbreaking. :( The first time I cried it was pretty minor, but this time the tears were running down my cheeks. I'm rarely *that* affected by movies, but that totally did it for me.

I thought that the ending was just perfect: bittersweet, like the whole movie. I was only sad that Russell couldn't keep Kevin. :(

Overall, an amazing movie. I loved it, and I will definitely be watching it again.
